The Taj mahal is a mausoleum located along the river Yamuna in Agra, India. It was commisoned by the Fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1631 as a tomb for his late wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal also hosts Jahan himself along with a mosquee and a guest house. The palace fist opened it's doors on feb. 6th 1643, the 12 year anniversary of Mumtaz death. However, the Taj Mahal was not completely finished until 1653.
